  • Early menopause or genetic conditions that impact fertility

Whatever the reason, we’ll support and guide you every step of the way.

Choosing Your Egg Donor

You may have an idea of what characteristics you’d like in a donor. We provide in our profiles, information on hair and eye color, height, weight and education level.

For Basic Program, the egg donor will be chosen by laboratory team based on phenotypes of the patient (the women).

For Special Program, we provide to your maximum 4-5 egg donor profiles from clinic database, based on egg donor phenotypes requested by you.

IVF Treatment with Donor Eggs: Your Options

Frozen Egg Donation:This can be an option for Basic or Special Program. In Frozen Egg Donation program, we guarantee 8-10 mature oocytes to be used for your procedure.

Fresh Egg Donation:This can be an option for Basic Program but especially for Special Program. After Choosing the Egg Donor (Special Program), and your partner provide the sperm material in clinic, we are going to reserve the donor and start her stimulation.  Regarding the sperm of your partner, it can be frozen and stored in our laboratory for ICSI procedure in case it is recommended, to avoid a last moment trip. But if there is any problem related with the quality of sperm, your partner must come in clinic to give fresh semen material on the day of ICSI procedure, to maximize the chances of the getting better quality and quantity of embryos.

In case your medical protocol provided by doctor, is necessary to proceed with Fresh Embryo Transfer, your cycle is synchronized with your donor’s cycle, so the 5th or 6th day of Embryo Development corresponds with the day of your Embryo Transfer procedure.

The Egg Donation Process at IVF Vision

  1. Initial Consultation
We’ll review your medical history, treatments, and any previous tests. Your initial assessment will include a scan, blood tests, and semen analysis.
  2. Meeting with Your Coordinator
In your next step, a dedicated coordinator will introduce you with each program and after evaluation of the costs, based on the program you choose, the coordinator will inform you for every step needed to start the process.
  3. Preparation for Treatment
Once you’ve selected a program, a specialist will finalize your treatment plan. You’ll also meet with a nurse to complete screening tests and consents, and counseling is available throughout your treatment.
  4. Starting Treatment
You can choose to start the treatment in your country and to come in Albania only for the embryo transfer procedure, or you can choose to stay in Albania during all process which can take around 19,20,or 21 days (depends on your endometrium thickness). Eggs are fertilized with your partner sperm and cultured for up to six days to the blastocyst stage and embryos will be ready and secure in our laboratory while you will be prepared for the Embryo Transfer. Usually, the procedure starts on second or third day of menstrual cycle, and you will be taking medications as prescribed by doctor. Ultrasound scans will be needed based on protocol of treatment. If you don’t have menstrual cycle, then doctor will give you another medical protocol for cases like yours.

Creating Embryos with Fresh vs. Frozen Eggs

  • Fresh Eggs: Around 80-85% of collected eggs are typically viable for fertilization.
  • Frozen Eggs: With frozen eggs, we can synchronize egg thawing and fertilization with your cycle, allowing flexibility in timing or your procedure in case genetic test of embryos is required. In our laboratory, approximately 95% of thawed eggs survive the process and are suitable for fertilization with ICSI.

Embryo Transfer

Once embryos are ready, you’ll prepare for transfer, which involves taking medications and ultrasound monitoring. This straightforward procedure lasts about 15-20 minutes, and your best-quality embryo is transferred into the uterus under ultrasound guidance.

Benefits of Frozen Egg Treatment

  • Flexibility: Treatment can be tailored to your natural cycle or preferred timing.
  • Reduced Stress: Unlike fresh programs, the frozen model is centered around your schedule, not the donor’s.
  • Cost-Efficiency: Frozen egg treatments are competitively priced.
  • Fewer Disruptions: Since eggs are pre-frozen, there’s no risk of cycle cancellations.
  • Quicker Start: Selecting from a pre-collected bank often shortens waiting time for your ICSI procedure.
